About EPA Design

EPA Design is a multi-disciplinary studio collective of Architectural Designers, Structural Engineers, and Civil Engineers. We have a growing portfolio of residential and commercial projects across Essex, the South East, and beyond.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for a technically skilled and motivated individual to take a hands-on role in delivering high-quality design solutions across a range of building types.


Role Overview

As a Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead and contribute to the design and delivery of a variety of residential and commercial schemes. Working across timber, steel, masonry, and concrete, you will collaborate closely with architects, clients, and consultants to produce practical, buildable, and elegant structural solutions.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project coordination skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural design and detailing for timber, steel, masonry, and concrete structures.

  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical reports to support project delivery.

  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate and manage projects from concept through technical design to completion.

  • Conduct site inspections and address construction queries as needed.

  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all technical outputs.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • At least 4 years of UK-based post-graduate experience.

  • Chartered status (IStructE or ICE) preferred but not essential.

  • Proven experience working on residential and commercial building projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, CADS, or equivalent structural analysis software.

  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and modern construction methods.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ideally based locally to our Rayne, Braintree office.
