Your Responsibilities
As part of the Construction Engineering Specialist Team, you will provide technical input to support HSE’s regulatory functions:

Investigations: Lead technical analysis of construction incidents to identify root causes.

Legal Support: Write high-level technical reports for legal teams and provide oral evidence in court.

Regulatory Inspections: Visit workplaces to ensure risks are reduced and CDM duties are met.

Strategic Influence: Help shape national policy, research, and safety guidance for the engineering sector.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must be high-level technical professionals.
Technical Credentials

Chartered Status: CEng MICE or CEng IStructE (or equivalent).

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

License: Full UK Driving Licence (essential for site visits).
Experience and Skills

Industry Depth: Breadth of Civil or Structural experience, including site processes and practical design application.

Regulatory Knowledge: Practical understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and UK safety standards.

Communication: Ability to translate complex engineering failures into clear reports for “lay” audiences (legal teams and juries).
