An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to join an employee-owned, forward-thinking engineering consultancy based in Liverpool. About the Role:

As a Principal Engineer, you will be at the forefront of delivering complex and high-value structural projects across a variety of sectors. You’ll be responsible for managing project teams, overseeing the technical delivery, and ensuring the successful completion of designs that meet both client expectations and industry standards.

You’ll work closely with colleagues in a collaborative environment that values professional growth and personal well-being. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the delivery of structural projects across healthcare, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design and analysis of structures, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered.
  • Oversee the preparation of design calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Manage and coordinate with external consultants and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Participate in business development, providing support for bids and helping to expand the company’s project portfolio.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng) with several years of experience in structural engineering design and project delivery.
  • Proven experience working across healthcare, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, with experience managing projects valued up to £100M.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
