We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Structural Engineer to join our Building Control team and help us provide an excellent, professional service to all our customers.

The main function of this post is to assess structural calculations submitted in support of building regulation applications.  We receive over 1200 building regulation applications a year many with structural calculations appended.  The work in the district is varied with many large commercial projects on-going and commencing in the coming years.  The role will also involve some inspection of work on site and dealing with dangerous structures to ensure public safety.

We will offer in return an excellent part of the country to live and work in, a professional and friendly team to work with, up to 30 days annual leave, flexible working hours, payment of professional fees and entry into the highly beneficial local government pension scheme.  We also offer excellent opportunities for training and continuing professional development plus an allowance for being part of the dangerous structures’ emergency call out rota.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away. Homeworking will also be a large part of your working week.
