We are currently seeking two Construction Engineering professionals to retrain as Specialist Inspectors on a full-time, permanent basis.

Post 1: Can be based in Bootle, Buxton, Carlisle, Crewe, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, or Wrexham.

The Role: Become a Specialist Inspector
As a Specialist Inspector (Construction Engineering), you will use your civil and structural engineering expertise to ensure construction activities across Great Britain are safe and legally compliant.
Following your initial training, you will work alongside technical specialists to inspect construction environments, manage risks, and investigate the root causes of incidents.
Key Responsibilities:

Investigate: Lead technical investigations into construction engineering incidents and structural failures.

Report: Produce authoritative reports that influence legal decisions, enforcement, and industry policy.

Expert Witness: Act as an independent expert witness at inquests, tribunals, and prosecutions.

Advise: Share specialist intelligence to shape future health and safety research and guidance.
Note: Successful completion of the Specialist Training Programme (STP) is a legal requirement for this role.
About You: Requirements
We are looking for Chartered Engineers with a passion for safety and a background in complex site processes. To excel in this role, you will need:

Professional Status: Chartered Membership of the ICE or IStructE (registered with the Engineering Council).

Education: A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in civil or structural engineering.

Experience: Significant experience in UK construction safety standards and site techniques.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and the practical application of design decisions.

Mobility: A full, valid driving licence and a willingness to travel (including occasional overnight stays).
