Responsibilities
- Lead or assist in the structural design of new build and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors.
- Produce calculations, drawings and specifications in line with British Standards, Eurocodes and client requirements.
- Liaise effectively with architects, M&E engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to develop and refine structural solutions.
- Assess structural feasibility, load paths, material selection and buildability considerations.
- Undertake site visits, inspections and structural assessments as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of practice, processes, and standards.
- Support the company’s sustainability objectives through innovation in materials, methods, and design practices.
Skills & Experience
- Chartered or near-chartered status (ICE or IStructE).
- Strong foundation in structural engineering principles with 3-5 years’ post-graduate experience.
- Proven experience delivering structural designs in sectors such as residential, education, healthcare, or hospitality.
- Competent in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Awareness of sustainability, lifecycle impact, and design optimisation.
- Willingness to conduct site visits and travel when required.
