About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Chartered Structural Engineer who wants to lead projects, mentor a small team, and play a visible role in shaping both design and culture. You’ll take ownership of key projects, contribute to business development, and help drive Toynbee’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Lead and support engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and organised working culture.

Represent the company at client meetings and design reviews, building long-term relationships.

Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, budget, and timelines are achieved.

Provide technical guidance, ensuring designs meet all relevant standards, codes, and best practices.

Contribute to business development and project bids with innovative and commercially aware input.
About You

Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or equivalent) with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Proven experience managing structural design projects, including refurbishment and existing buildings.

Strong leadership skills, able to mentor and inspire others.

Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Commercially minded with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Proficient in AutoCAD, TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, and Oasys GSA (Revit experience beneficial).

Location and Working Style
Our main office is in Wandsworth, London, with an additional base in Sussex. Team members based in Sussex typically visit the London office weekly to stay connected with the wider team. We operate core hours from 10:00–16:00 to help maintain a healthy work–life balance.
