TYPICAL SKILL AND QUALIFICATION
Overview: Self-motivated and ambitious Chartered or near Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer,
with at least 3 years Design Office and Construction oversight experience.
For You: Initial salary £60k to £70k. Lead Engineer. Rapid promotion to Associate, profit share and
benefits in a growing practice.
Location: Working within the old Barclays Bank premises, central to St Agnes, Cornwall, but within 20
minutes of TRURO and walking distance of some amazing beach and coastal environments.
Generally: Providing professional civil and structural engineering services within a multi-disciplinary
building and conservation practice rebranded as Desmonde Associates from the original PDP
(established in 1982) operating throughout the UK. To support our work involving varied clients,
architects, Local Authorities, the Scottish Government, Prime Contractors and Property Developers
throughout Cornwall and the UK.
Role: Working within a Design Office and reporting to the MD you will lead on a wide range of projects
encompassing structural investigations, professional appraisals, new builds, geotechnical, civil, coastal
structures and supporting Expert Evidence in construction disputes. A multi-disciplinary engineering
role supporting and managing the Firm’s structural and civil engineering capabilities you will quickly
take on Projects as Client lead at Associate level.
