Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
RDG Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships and play an active role in the continued growth of the business. Working across a diverse range of structural, civil and temporary works projects, the successful candidate will combine hands-on technical delivery with increasing responsibility for project management, commercial activities and business development.
The position is ideally suited to an engineer looking to broaden their experience beyond purely technical delivery while maintaining a leading role in project delivery. For the right individual, the role provides a clear pathway towards increased responsibility and a future leadership position within the business.
The Role
Our workload spans a variety of sectors including heritage, rail, nuclear, commercial and infrastructure projects, offering exposure to technically challenging and often non-standard engineering problems.
Responsibilities will include:

Leading engineering projects from enquiry through to completion

Preparing, reviewing and approving calculations, drawings and technical reports

Coordinating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams

Managing project programmes, budgets and technical delivery

Developing and maintaining client relationships

Preparing quotations and supporting commercial activities

Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
-
Contributing to business development and operational discussions
The successful candidate will be expected to work with a high level of independence while collaborating closely with colleagues across the business.
Requirements
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

Experience within a structural and/or civil engineering consultancy environment

Strong technical and problem-solving capability

Experience managing projects and coordinating technical delivery

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues

A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of projects

An interest in developing towards a future leadership role
Chartered status is welcomed but not essential. Support towards Chartership will be provided where required.
