The Role
We are seeking a fast-paced, self-motivated individual with a recent academic background to join our dynamic editorial team responsible for the publication of Structures – the Research Journal of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
In this role, you will be responsible for the critical assessment of new manuscript submissions to the journal, ensuring only those that meet agreed quality standards and guidelines progress to full peer-review. Using your subject expertise and critical-thinking skills, you will play a key part in the decision-making process for the initial stages of manuscript handling and provide timely, well-reasoned responses to any challenges presented by authors.
Structures aims to publish internationally leading research across the full breadth of structural engineering. Published by Elsevier on behalf of the Institution of Structural Engineers, the journal has a current Impact Factor of 4.3, placing it in the top quartile of journals in the civil and structural engineering field.
