Senior Structural Engineer Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Chartered Structural Engineers to work with customers on their structural engineering requirements, conduct site visits, book these in for other engineers, deliver reports and/or drawings and review work from other engineers (peer reviewing). This is a home-based role with flexibility to work three, four or five days per week, suiting those who prioritise work-life balance, autonomy or the ability to manage personal/family responsibilities alongside their careers.
Senior Structural Engineer Key Responsibilities
Discuss new structural engineering enquiries with customers.
Conduct site surveys, designs, calculations, drawings and reports.
Review and approve other structural engineers’ reports, drawings and specifications before client submission.
Senior Structural Engineer Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Chartered with iStructE, ICE or Engineers Ireland is a must
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience of UK Building Regulations and design standards
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce clear reports and drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including formatting and layouts
  • Access to a car with a valid UK driving licence
  • Senior Structural Engineer Personal Attributes
Confidence to make and defend professional recommendations. Exceptional attention to detail in both technical and written work. Collaborative, can-do attitude with strong communication skills.
