A technically strong, dynamic and personable structural design engineer is sought to join this forward thinking and friendly firm of consulting structural engineers. They are a well established practice currently looking to expand their Tunbridge Wells office. They have airy modern office space on the Pantiles with super views; close to shops, restaurants and Pubs. Parking is available close by and mainline rail station is just a few minutes walk.

They are seeking an experienced structural designer who is able to run projects, carry out hands on design and liaise with clients. You will be helping to free up some of the Directors time which is currently being spent on hands on design and assisting more junior members of the team whilst they would like to focus a little more on the business side. The role will suit someone who is looking to progress their career in a small business where individuals are given responsibility, recognised and rewarded. Progression prospects here are very real, without the need to commute into Central London. The firm is incredibly busy with work and are keen to find the right person to help them and someone who is looking for longevity of career in a practice. You should enjoy autonomy and be keen to work in a firm where staff are trusted and supported to perform well.

You will need to enjoy working on a wide range of projects simultaneously, from loft conversions to schools, supermarkets, offices, large new housing developments, projects for the NHS, D+B work, basements and civil works. Project values range from tiny up to £20m.

The practice has a wide variety of up to date software, including Tekla and Revit. They offer a wide range of services including structural and civil design, party wall surveys, cdm co-ordination, asbestos consultancy services and construction project services.

Ideally you would be Chartered or IEng level, but experienced and ambitious graduate structural engineers will also be considered. UK working experience in a design office is essential.

Computer literacy and experience with Autocad and software tools is essential. They are a firm enthusiastic about BIM.
