Chartered Structural Engineer
Do you have aspirations to run your own business, without the risk of having to find clients?
This small and financially sound structural engineering practice was established in 1985. They have a constantly very busy workload with plentiful repeat business and many large and reputable clients. The 2 Directors are looking to retire in the next few years. They are keen to secure a succession plan with the recruitment of a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their team, with a view to a future Directorship and eventually taking over the business. The role would suit an ambitious, technically strong and business minded individual who seeks to progress. There is a ready made business here for the taking so this is a great opportunity. This practice has never been short of work.
The practice work with banks, local councils, contractors and architects with projects throughout the UK. The work is varied and includes refurbs, surveys, high rise buildings, MOD work, offices, work for councils investigating new cladding systems in the wake of Grenfell, etc. You would have a varied role including all aspects of very real engineering design work - not just tapping numbers, parts of projects or being a number in a large firm! You would work on projects from conception to completion and be involved in all areas of structural engineering, including tenders, fees, meeting clients, surveys, hands on design etc.
The offices are based in Bromley, a short walk from the mainline station or parking is also possible. They are just off the main high street, close to all amenities, shops, cafes, pubs and bars.
The office is an open plan, supportive and collaborative environment where engineers bounce ideas of each other. You will have the opportunity to run your own projects with autonomy and excellent personal development.
The firm are a friendly practice with an excellent staff retention rate. People like it here and tend to stay.
For this role you should be MICE or MIStructE, UK experienced, and a driving licence is preferred.
The role will offer excellent prospects, varied and real engineering work, good basic salary, extra annual leave as they close for 2 weeks each Christmas, social events and flexible working hours.
