SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
JBA Consulting is one of the leading consultancies in water engineering in the UK and Ireland. Due to the significant growth in our Haywards Heath engineering team, we currently have a vacancy for a senior civil/structural engineer who wishes to work on a variety of projects ranging from structural, bridges, coastal, fluvial and maritime design projects.
This role is offered as either part-time or full-time.
The post will involve leading on the structural design and delivery of a variety of projects, mentoring junior engineers and reporting to the Structural Engineering Technical Director. The successful applicant would ideally be able to undertake structural design and analysis for both heavy civil structures and building structures although applicants who have specialised in one of the two fields will be considered. You will be expected to successfully deliver and lead projects whilst guiding other engineers and technicians. The post is within a rapidly growing multi-disciplinary engineering team based in Haywards Heath who currently have an exciting portfolio of work in multiple sectors ranging from industrial/commercial buildings, bridge design to high profile coastal, maritime and flood defence schemes.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in civil and or structural engineering is essential. The applicant would be expected to hold membership of the ICE, IStructE, or Engineers Ireland and should be chartered or close to completing their professional review. If required, JBA has an ICE approved structured training programme and one-to-one mentoring to assist in success at professional review.
Previous professional experience is essential, preferably from a UK consultancy background. Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate and evidence, a proven track record in the following:
- Leading and QA of structural analysis and design
- Leading and mentoring junior engineers
- Project Management
A valid UK driving licence will be required.
