Chmiel Overton was formed in August 1990 by the merger of two civil and structural engineering consultancies:
K. Chmiel & Partners, founded in 1965 and Kenneth A. Overton & Partners, founded in 1967
The company draws experience from two directors, with a combined experience of over 75 years, together with the necessary technical and administrative back up staff and consultant services of former partners. Works carried out by the present and previous companies encompass a wide area of structural and civil engineering disciplines on industrial, commercial, retail, educational, ecclesiastical and residential projects for both the public and private sectors and involve steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures, buildings, machine foundations, road and sewer designs.
Present and past clients include large companies and institutions such as British Sugar plc, Cadbury Limited, Kraft Foods Group Inc, Airbus S.A.S, Ricoh Company Ltd, Honda UK Manufacturing Ltd, ArcelorMittal, Travelodge Hotels Ltd, Wedge Group Ltd, Rolls Royce Plc, Jaguar Land Rover Ltd, Bentley Motors, Joseph Ash Ltd, Holiday Inn Hotels, Aston Villa FC, Sainsbury's Plc, M&S Ltd, Drayton Manor Park Ltd, Birmingham City Council and a number of local schools and golf clubs.
