BWB, the multi-disciplinary design engineering group, has appointed former WSP director Simon Harden to lead the growth of its London operations.
BWB, which last year became part of the global transport engineering giant CAF Group, has worked on a series of large-scale projects in the capital, including Millharbour, Strand East and Lewisham Gateway.
Harden joins the group as Business Growth Director and will drive expansion of an operation which currently occupies two floors of offices in Borough Market.
The former head of retail at WSP, Harden’s 30-year career in civil and structural engineering includes more than a decade at Waterman Group, where he became a PLC director.
Announcing his appointment, BWB’s Group CEO, Steve Wooler, said: “Simon is a vastly experienced engineer with a track record of delivery and business development at the highest level.
“We’ve invested heavily in our presence in London, which is reflected in the calibre of the projects we’ve been working on. Simon will build on those foundations to extend our reach still further and help us achieve some significant growth ambitions.”
Harden has previously been involved in projects such as 99 Bishopsgate in London, the Bull Ring project in Birmingham, and large-scale developments in Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan.
He said: “BWB has signalled intentions to grow across a number of disciplines, and has the ambition and firepower to deliver. It has an experienced team, a strong entrepreneurial streak, and some significant opportunities in London which I will be pursuing.”
BWB Consulting is a multi-award-winning engineering and environmental consultancy with seven offices across the UK. In 2017 BWB became part of CAF Group, a transaction that gives the business immediate access to opportunities in the rail sector and a solid platform for international growth.
