Structural Engineer - Wiltshire

At Neptune, we employ an agile approach to business.  For 21 years, we have strived for excellence in all our products, from classic and contemporary kitchens to beautiful home furnishings that appeal to heart as much as the head.

To help achieve this, we invest heavily in designing, building and renovating an interesting mix of buildings for retail, residential and industrial purposes.  As our design and development processes continue to evolve, our team of over 400 committed individuals in the UK does too.

To ensure we get things right, we’re looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our property team based in Wiltshire.  This position will suit someone proficient in the design and use of all structural materials, including steel-framed buildings. You’ll work closely with our retail, interior design and build teams to optimise the way in which we design and develop a huge array of buildings.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Immerse yourself in our projects to weigh up material usage, measuring their overall impact and benefits as components for construction
  • Produce effective, economical structural designs using all common construction materials
  • Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures
  • Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
  • Make sure all work meets legal requirements and health and safety standards
  • Manage and mitigate risk throughout projects
  • Inspect and oversee demolition, remodelling and redevelopment works

Our ideal candidate will bring varied knowledge of all major materials and experience in commercial, residential, industrial and retail projects (both in new build and refit). You’ll have an appropriate degree in structural engineering and ideally at least 3-5 year’s post-graduate experience.  You could even be chartered (MIStructE or MICE) or you may be working towards it.

We recognise hard work, so, in return you will receive a highly competitive salary, pension scheme, gym membership, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme and a great range of other benefits. Please get in touch now with your CV and current salary details - click 'apply'
